A Little Sunday Morning Physics

Showing up here on a Sunday morning is a significant part of our journeying together in faith, but how does this connect with what happens during the rest of the week? We’re going to explore the potential for Sunday mornings to be both a gathering and a sending as we strive to be the church God longs for us to be.

Readings: Matthew 9:35-38; Matthew 28:16-20

The Good Ol’ Days

The Good Ol’ Days

Looking back on your journey of faith can be a risky venture. Of course there’s often joy in reminiscing about the good ol’ days, but there can also be a sense of remorse as we discover the good things that we’ve lost along the way. If you’ve lost something worth recovering, maybe now is the time to get it back.

Readings: REV.2:1-7

A Pastor’s Journey

Eugene Peterson wrote in his book, A Long Obedience in the Same Direction, “Joy is not a requirement of Christian discipleship, it is a consequence.  It is not what we have to acquire in order to experience life in Christ; it is what comes to us when we are walking in the way of faith and obedience.”  For 44 years Don has signed his correspondence, ‘Sincerely, Joy in Jesus’.  He has never meant a lack of tears, nor sorrow.  Rather his signature reminds him of the secure fellowship of Jesus regardless of life’s circumstances.  As our Senior Pastor, Brandon Malo, returns, he offers reflections on his pastoral journey and how our faith community can continue to care for our pastors.

Readings: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Joshua 1:9; John 15:7
